Welcome New LCEF Staff

Welcome Dick Swedean to the LCEF staff serving the upper Midwest districts as a part-time Administrative Assistant, beginning December 2013. Swedean is a great fit since he has volunteered for LCEF for many years and continues to do so. He not only understands the ministry, he has been an active ambassador over the years.

“From Dick, we hear the love of people and ministry as tasks are accomplished; he is a blessing. It is our hope that as Dick interacts with our church and school staff, volunteers and investors, that he will be a positive impact for the Lord. Dick has the unique gift of lifting up those around him and accomplishing tasks at the same time,” said Maria Hendrickson, LCEF director of communication & marketing serving the upper Midwest districts.

“Joining the LCEF team, for me, allows me to assist members of my own church body [and] the many great LCMS members throughout the upper Midwest.  I have volunteered for LCEF for more than twenty-five years. That experience helps me share the impact of what LCEF investments and loans can do for our members,” said Swedean.

“I am married and have three great daughters and four grandchildren. My wife, Joyce, and I are members of Christ Lutheran Church in Eagan, Minn. where I am the newly elected stewardship chair and sing in the choir. I am also the bookkeeper for Camp Omega in Waterville, Minn. My wife and I are also active members of Saints Alive Growing Ever Serving (SAGES) the LCMS adult ministry in the Minnesota South District.”

Swedean has a long history of experience as an office manager, payroll accountant and bookkeeper. Most recently, in 2008, Swedean retired as a full time Senior Payroll Accountant with GMAC-RESCAP in Richfield, Minn. His LCEF office hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. You can welcome him with a phone call to 952-223-2162 or email
