“Accessing Faith” was the theme for members at Faith Lutheran Church and Student Center in La Crosse, Wisc. when they embarked on a journey to make their church home more accessible for worship. A Lutheran Church Extension Fund loan helped fund the remodel which included lowering a raised sanctuary floor and communion rail. This eliminated difficult steps up for those participating in communion. Faith also installed an elevator so they could better utilize the lower level fellowship hall.
Faith had an LCEF loan back in the ‘80s; the LCEF ministry is blessed to serve Faith again today. Accepting the call to serve Faith in 2007, Rev. Paul Mundinger recently said, “We were very happy with LCEF during the whole process. Our district LCEF VP was great to work with.” Faith’s more recent remodel also included a new cry room, carpet and landscaping. If your congregation is interested in financing, please contact your district Lutheran Church Extension Fund vice president.
