Rose of Sharon is in the middle of a growing housing development. Church staff and members want to offer support to these neighbors. “ . . . [We] share a new excitement about outreach and revitalization,” wrote Rose of Sharon Sonshine Preschool Director/Teacher Liz Perryman in her grant application.
With the help of these grant funds, the congregation will sponsor a Family Fun Day. Families will be invited to Rose of Sharon this summer to enjoy games, food, face painting, inflatable jumpers and a sense of neighborhood community all free of charge. Rose of Sharon will have an opportunity to share their services such as Christian preschool, Vacation Bible School, Moms of Preschoolers (MOPS), Bible studies and more. “It also gives us the opportunity to share the salvation and love of our Savior with families in our community,” wrote Perryman. Three outreach goals were outlined for this event:
1) Share the salvation and love of our Savior
2) Connect families to a church home
3) Invite families to receive Christian education
Minnesota South District LCEF is blessed to support our LCMS ministries in this way. LCEF is a nonprofit ministry of the Church; therefore, fiscal year end operating results are put right back into mission and ministry. LCEF is blessed by strong investors and faithful borrowers. It’s a partnership that’s working, thus we have these grant funds available to our Minnesota South District - Lutheran Church Missouri Synod organizations.
Continue to watch our newsfeed and Facebook for the announcement of our remaining winners this month. LCEF Outreach Event Grants are available to Minnesota South District LCMS organizations. The application is posted annually on our website, lcefuppermidwest.org, each fall.
