"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans" - Proverbs 16:3 (NIV) What is God’s plan for me in retirement? It's a valid question that requires prayer and some homework. More than 40 members of Iowa District West congregations attended a retirement workshop in order to become better informed of the financial and Lutheran resources available to them when they retire.
The workshop was sponsored by Lutheran Church Extension Fund Iowa District West and held at the Boulders Conference Center in Denison, Iowa on September 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. The meal was free and various speakers touched on topics such as "Retirement: Bracing for Financial Impact," "Preparing for Emotional Impact," "Preparing for Post-Retirement: Preamble & Estate Planning," and LCEF Iowa Districts Vice President Carole White presented "Investment Options Before, During and After Retirement."
"It was a good workshop," said White. "A wealth of knowledge was shared by all the speakers. We had a nice attendance and very positive responses to the event." Personal LCEF investment information is available at lcef.org.
