At St. John's Lutheran Church, Stewartville, Minn. on Aug. 1, 2017, nearly 30 attended the first of three LCEF Lunch & Learn events in the Minnesota South District.
LCEF MNS District Vice President Kai Larson accepted his new role in March 2017. These summer lunches are an opportunity for LCEF advocates, LCMS leaders and members to meet Larson, network with many friends in Christ and learn what is new with the ministry of LCEF.
LCEF has been blessed by St. John's partnership in ministry for generations. Most recently, the congregation received an LCEF loan to update their sanctuary. They updated their sanctuary throughout with LED lighting, a new altar and more. And it did not take St. John's long to pay their loan in full this year. St. John's member John Henke shared how wonderful it was to work with LCEF for their funding. Over the years, the congregation has moved buildings, renovated and updated several times and even added a child care center.
There are two remaining LCEF MNS lunches next week. The Aug. 9 event will be hosted by Mt. Hope Lutheran Church and Child Development Center, Bloomington, Minnesota and on Aug. 10, the lunch will be hosted by Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato, Minnesota. See details and register here.
