On May 6, 2012 Risen Christ Lutheran Church held a groundbreaking ceremony. This congregation in Davenport, Iowa is now in the midst of an expansion. Today, the congregation is three-quarters of the way through the renovations. Secured by an LCEF loan, the project includes a corridor, larger kitchen, renovated restrooms and larger office space, replacing three unconnected office areas. But the primary change will be to the sanctuary where 2,400 extra square feet will create a sacristy for holy vestments and a chancel area. The current pews will remain, although the seating area will increase by 40 feet.
